
Sam Altman is an American entrepreneur best known as the CEO of OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT. He was born in 1985 in Chicago and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He first got into tech at a young age after receiving his first computer at eight years old. Altman later dropped out of Stanford University to co-found a startup called Loopt. He became a major figure in Silicon Valley after leading Y Combinator, a well-known startup accelerator.
